Bottom bracket help! Can't reattach lockrings

    Any ideas? Lockrings removed successfully, after a bit of a struggle, but they won't go back onto the thread, unless I'm doing something wrong. Is the thread gimped? There was a fair bit of rust on the BB, or at least discolouration, but I'd still have expected them to go back on a bit handier. Sealed cartridge type, if it makes a difference.
