Kitchen worktop: wood vs. granite

    Hi,
    We are in the process of buying a house that comes with a fitted kitchen with a wood worktop and I am going to ask them to quote me on granite worktop.

    I was wondering if someone could advise on how much more could it cost. The approximate dimensions of the worktop will be around 4400mm by 600mm OR 900mm. L shaped, another 1000mm to the side for the kitchen sink.

    Go to a Kitchen supplier ... they will quote you for a Granite worktop ... just so you can keep the builder honest.

    Recent quote for my own kitchen to upgrade it to Granite worktop (about 2/3 size of yours) ... €1500 extra
