    3 questions:

    1. Is it really unlimited travel for a month? I could be hopping up and down all over the short hop zone all day long for 30 days like? Like 100s of journeys?

    2. When it says it's valid for 1 calendar month does that mean I'll have to be getting it on the first of each month? Like its expiry is always at the end of the month, not necessarily 30 days after purchase?

    3. Is it valid on the bus and luas?

I'll be going Bray-Pearse every day so I need to make big $$ savings!!

Firstly Monthly student tickets offer unlimited travel and are valid from the first to the last day of each month (e.g. 1-31 January).

There are a range of tickets available - the ones that include DART/Suburban Rail are:

    Monthly Rail Only - €85:
Valid for unlimited travel for one calendar month on all DART & Rail services within the Short Hop Zone

Monthly Short Hop Bus & Rail - €108
Valid for unlimited travel for one calendar month on all DART & Rail services within the Short Hop Zone and all Dublin Bus services (excluding Airlink, Nitelink, Tours, Special Events and Private Contract services)

    Monthly Rail & LUAS - €124
Valid for unlimited travel for one calendar month on all DART & Rail services within the Short Hop Zone and all LUAS Red Line and Green Line services

Your Student Travelcard also has a LEAP e-purse, so if you load some money onto it, and have (for example) a Monthly Rail Only ticket, then you can use the e-purse to pay for occasional Dublin Bus or LUAS trips on a trip-by-trip basis.

If you want to get any bus or Luas, you will either need a specific bus or Luas add-on or buy single tickets / use Leap.

If you have a problem getting a three-mode ticket, talk to the Taxsaver Office in Irish Rail.

thanks lads. Could I buy it in at bray station or do I have to get it in town somewhere?

First off have you got a student travelcard? If not you need to get one via www.studenttravelcard.ie.

Once you have that, you can buy any of the tickets I listed above at any DART station.
