Hi sorry if i posted this in the wrong thread I'm new
But I have a problem today I've switched to a new modem (which is faster) I have been having wireless problems. First off I've got all the stuff setup and done, but my browser works when my laptop is plugged into the modem with the cable, however when I take the cable out of the laptop it says its has Internet Access and is connected and using my browser (Google Chrome) it doesn't work.
    So please help :(

    Hi,

    Try the following.

Remove the wireless network settings from your computer - Instructions here - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg252588%28v=ws.10%29.aspx

Once completed, launch the command prompt in admin mode - Instructions here - http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/run-a-command-as-administrator-from-the-windows-vista-run-box/

In the command box type ipconfig /flushdns then press Enter (This is not essential as its working on a cable connection but no harm to do it anyway)

Next, in the same command box type netsh winsock reset then press Enter (This will require a restart)

Restart the computer, once re-started, join the wireless network for your new modem and use the new key (located on the underside of the modem)

If this is not successful it might be an issue with your Wifi Channel set on the modem and the saturation of the channel in your area. This can be changed on the modem config page under Wireless but if you are unsure, give UPC a call and they will be able to talk you thru it.
