Can someone explain exactly how "owning" cars works?

    So how does it work?
If you buy a car or bike, it gets delivered to a garage where you pick it up... Is it yours forever?
If you completely destroy it, will it come back?
What causes it to be impounded? And can multiple cars be impounded?
Can you lose a car completely?
The car each character starts with usually shows back up at the house, but can the purchased vehicles turn up there too or will you always have to go back to a garage for them?

From what I can tell, each character has their own specific car which you can mod and will always show up somewhere close to where you are when you switch to them (unless you're up a mountain or something). The cars you buy or store at your actual garage (not safehouse) are yours until they're destroyed. If you die while out in the car, check the impounds and it should be there.

It just means if you know where a race or something is going to be, you can have a tricked out modded car in your garage to use for it. You can also store one or two in your safehouse garage. But mostly, I think it's just to get you used to the mechanics of it when it comes to Online, where everyone will have their own modded cars for races and stuff.
