Hi there, hopefully someone will be able to help me with this!
Is it true that my payment is available for collection for a couple of days after my normal day? I normally collect on a Friday but I'm wondering if it would be possible to collect it on the following Tuesday? I've tried to contact social welfare, my local branch and my post office but got no response. Thanks!

Hey just wanted to ask about this.... If you miss collecting a payment or if it's beyond the time, what happens? Are you not entitled to the money? My payment is due on Wed but next week I cannot collect it until the following Tuesday. Is the money still not mine to collect??

Well, the logic is that you're supposed to be available, and seeking work. Ergo, you should be able to collect your payment in a reasonable timeframe.

Everyone has an issue where now and again where they can't collected it until the next day etc, hence the grace period. But almost a week? Where is the client, and why can't they collect it? Are they really unemployed..you can see the train of thought. If you're not on an official holiday, then their reasoning is that if you're not working, you should be able to collect your payment in a reasonable timeframe.

Thanks for that! I'm new to social welfare so what's an official holiday?
