I bought a 40 inch jvc smart tv. I was hoping to use netflix on it but the only apps on it are Facebook, twitter ,YouTube ,flickr, accuweather ,playjam and dailymotion. I've been trying to see how to get more apps on it but after hours of messing around with it i still have no idea. No instructions about the Internet portal came with tv. Any ideas?!

Would need model number to check.the below website may assist you.
From my own experience of Smart TV's. Netflix is not on all of them. If you search Netlix on the Smart TV Search option it should return a result for you. I have an LG Smart TV and it does not have Netflix, I have a Panasonic and a Samsung and they both have the App.

The model number is LT 40TW51J. If it's not preloaded, is it not possible to get it? The reason I got the tv was to have netflix and I said that when I was buying it in the shop. I'll check the link!

Are you able to search for Netflix when connected to the Internet through your TV.
I looked on the currys website and there is no mention of Netflix on this TV, see below.

The problem is there is no search option at all (the help option explains how to use the Internet function but on that help screen it has a search option- red button, that is not available when I come on to the main page). Very frustrating as this is the only reason I bought it! The shop assistant said you can get netflix on it.

No I didn't, can you get it on your tv? I've gone back to currys a few times now and haven't had any luck in getting to the bottom of it.

No I'm getting annoyed to, I'm trying a software update now to see if that helps, or have you done that?

I tried that too, didn't do anything! Was there a dongle with your tv? It said one should have been supplied but it wasn't there so they gave me a Belkin smart tv link so it could connect to Internet. I'm really disappointed with the tv because of not being able to get more apps for it.

Must be an error with it then I think, I'm on JVC site to try and call someone but can't find a number, I'm already thinking about taking it back to Currys.

So am I was there twice this weekend and told them if I can't get it working I'm going to bring it back. There's not much info on that model anywhere, let me know how you get on!

Well I spoke to Curry's Know how team what ever happens team and JVC and no one could understand why this is the case with the TV, I'm assuming it's a software error and will be taking the TV back on Saturday evening.

Good idea. Think I'll do the same! I'm sick of trying to sort it out!

I brought it back and got a full refund. I had said when I was buying I wanted to use it for netflix so brought it back due to a misrepresented sale. I went to powercity and got a great LG smart tv. Hope you get it sorted!

Thanks! I'll bring it back! The only reason we bought it was down to the fact that we wanted to use the smart part of our tv!

Did any of you try return without the box? My cousin drew on the box on Christmas Day but I'm having the same problem with my telly and want to change it. But I don't know if they will without a resaleable box..

I returned it without a box. Just make sure you bring the remote control! They shouldn't advertise the TV as a smart TV!
