Windows 8 won't open some websites

    Hey I got a new laptop yesterday with windows 8, and it was fine but I wasn't looking too much into it. Tonight I was browsing and searched something on Google, the search worked but I couldn't open up any of the links in google search. Then I noticed a lot of websites won't open, but Facebook, Google and Twitter do. It's not just with chrome, it's also happening with internet explorer. I saw on a site to use the incognito function in chrome to see if it's any extensions interfering, but the same is happening in incognito. This is really frustrating so any help would be really appreciated!

    EDIT: I forgot to mention that my internet connection is fine because my iPhone and iPad are working normally. I even had to connect my phone to get those screenshots just to post this thread because boards won't load on the laptop.

    Nevermind, I deleted a JAVA update I installed last night and restarted and it's working perfectly :)
