Fixed wireless, distance from the tower?

There is a new company in my area offering fixed wireless BB at speeds of up to 20Mb. The tower they're transmitting from is just under 7km from my house and I have a beautiful clear line of site. Nothing is obstructing it. Could I expected the full 20Mb at that distance? I'm on a crappy eircom 2Mb with high latency (350 + ms most nights). What type of latency should I expect from fixed wireless at peak times? Gaming with it is my main concern.
    Thanks

You should have no problems,I used to have fixed wireless and I was almost 3 times that distance from the mast and still got the advertised speed.

    Hi

Ping times and latency are generally good with fixed wireless usually between 15-40ms, which is ideal for video streaming and gaming. As you mention gaming check with the company providing the service with regards to capping (some have a habit of setting a monthly or 30 day rolling allowance). Exceed it and they might throttle you (reduce your speeds)
