    Citra `n ` Cascade AIPA

    This one nearly ready for bottles

    brewed to 23ltr

    2 x 1.5kg Golden Light DME
    110g 2-Row Brewers Malt Steep 30 mins at 65c
    225g 2-Row Caramel Malt Steep 30 mins at 65c
    500g Dextrose
    Safele s05


    HOPS

    Citra 30g 10 min Boil

    30g Cascade after 10 days in secondary

    O.G. 1048

    You are a bit low on the gravity too, for an IPA. At 1.048 you have an american pale ale, not an IPA.

    I would be shooting for 1.055 minimum, 1.060+ preferably.

    A dry hop helps too.

    What was your total hop bill? Centennial + Cascade is a magic combination. Have a session pale ale in bottles that is very lightly hopped with both (only 16g of each at 4 different additions).

    I expected a better o.g with 2cans and dex 1055 is what i usually get ? Something went wrong?

    Centinial bittering ,citra finishing ,cascade in carboy secondary ,its at 1010 at mo i brewed on 7th sep ,so nearly ready for bottles ,i was after a nice amer pale ale ,i had a sup on wed and it was nice , i love the finish cascade gives nice aroma too

    Bottled it today ,f.g 1010 in 46 450ml grolsch bottles ,abv 5.0 ,batch primed 150g dextrose .
