Retro night on C4... 15-1 on, hosted by someone i've never heard of.

This used to be one of my absolute favourite quiz shows! My brother appeared on it (I went for Countdown meself).

Looking forward to a trip down memory lane!

It's a bit of a piss-take..... but a nice blast from the past all the same!

Very unclear how many lives they each have left.

I'd love to see an actual programme from way back when.... I feel a google search coming on when this is over :D:D

I'm enjoying it to be honest..

.. Alex Brooker is one of more like-able TV personalities to emerge in the last few years.

    Very funny guy too.

ah now.... don't be mean about RW! He was brilliant. And lovely.

Had to laugh at the green room sketch - couldn't be further from the truth if you tried :D We spent many hours in the bar sculling champers with RW and his girlfriend who was in dictionary corner that week. They were great company!

    That wasn't bad.

I enjoyed the reference to the Elgin Marbles at the start (it was a running theme in the old show)

Jo did great, she got a lot of medical questions which was hand seeing as she was a Nurse in a former life.

I don't know if it will translate into a series in that celebrity format, but it was nice to see it back. Adam is a good presenter, but there is only one William G. Stewart.

That was enjoyable enough, I wouldn't mind seeing it as a series but would they be able to book 15 decent celebrities weekly? To book someone and have them out after 2 questions would be a bit odd, though the BBC done it for The Weakest Link specials alright.

That was annoying, he answered correctly and got a patronising "Wooooo! Wonderful! Well done" from her.

I used to love Fifteen To One back in the day :o

I thought this was disappointing though. The programme would have been a lot shorter if the audience didn't clap every single question that was answered correctly.
They should have used the old set for the retro feel. Unless I'm starting to go blind, I also found if difficult to make out the lights that the contestants had left. The only saving grace was that the smug know-all Jonothan Woss got knocked out before the final three.
And as Skid said, there is only one William G Stewart. I'm not sure how his health is these days, but they should have got him to present it if he was still able to.

Harry, I don't know how he is now but he was lined up to do Strictly Come Dancing in 2010. The BBC vetoed him for being too old (according to himself)
I wouldn't have liked to be whoever told him he wasn't getting on the show ...
Stewart 75, says: "I had an interview with producers, was accepted and even agreed to a location for my training. At the interview I even did a few high kicks, knee bends, and toe-touching to prove how fit I am. All was agreed. Then, two weeks later, my agent got a message to say that the BBC would not insure me – I was too old."

A spokesman for the hugely popular programme claims that Stewart "was never offered a formal contract".

I always liked his firm but fair approach. Maybe he wouldn't have had the patience to deal with the Celeb-fest that was last night's show.

I'd never seen the show before and I enjoyed it. I liked the fact that the contestants were having a bit of a laugh. It was nice and informal. If it was a regular quiz show I wouldn't watch it. I thought the format was a bit boring without the bits of comedy.

He let the tight ship run aground a little bit for any celebrity editions he did. He made jokes, allowed conferring and some answers after the timeout and changed the rules of the first round at the start of the first one back in 1990...
