    Can anyone confirm the polity of IT Blanchardstown with regard to repeating exams, is it true that if you fail the same subject twice in the same year that you can't sit it for a third time and therefore cannot complete your course?

    Information sessions for full time students will take place tomorrow, Tuesday 24th September as follows:

    School of Business and Humanities information session will take place in A Block, LT1 from 12.00pm to 2pm

    School of Informatics and Engineering information session will take place in A Block, A57 from 1pm to 2.30pm

    Students have been advised to bring a printout of their repeat exam results from Banner self-service.

    A student can apply to progress carrying credits via form 4FAD11:

    a) Where they have 50 credits and a GPA >1.66 or;

    b) Where they have 60 credits and a GPA <2

    c) Provided that IN ALL CASES (both a) and b) they have engaged in all repeat opportunities and they are not in an award year

    STUDENTS WHO ARE OUTSIDE THE RULES TO PROGRESS CARRYING CREDITS

    Students who are outside the rules (a) to (c) above may submit their application to progress to their Head of Department for review but this will only be allowed if there are exceptional circumstances.

    These are some of the typical situations that may present:

    a) Students who did not attempt the August repeats (NP on broadsheets)

    b) Students with more than 10 credits to carry

    c) Students in an award year wishing to progress to an add-on year

    d) Students who have cleared say 2nd year, but have a 1st year module outstanding and wish to progress to 3rd year.

    Students who are not eligible to progress carrying credits, can apply to Repeat and Attend via form 4FSS02. Copies of both forms will be provided for the information sessions.

    Completed, signed forms 4FAD11 and 4FSS02 will be collected at the Information Session. The final deadline for submission of these forms to the Admissions office is Friday 27th September for full time and Friday 4th October for part time applications.
