    FROM THE IMS page-

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) will launch their AR5 report in late September. In parallel with this, Irish researchers have been simulating and analysing what projected climate change could mean for Ireland. The report will be launched on September 25th at 7pm in the National Botanic Gardens in association with the Irish Meteorological Society and the National Botanic Gardens.

Ray McGrath, Head of Research, Environment and Applications in Met Eireann will deliver a short lecture summarising various aspects of the report and will include such topics as: temperature and heat waves, rainfall and flooding, wave and wind energy, biodiversity changes including trees and butterflies, air quality and changes in global climate. The work is a collaborative effort between Met Eireann, UCD, UCC, NUI Galway, DIT, TCD, NUI Maynooth, National Biodiversity Centre, ICHEC and universities in Germany, UK, Holland and the USA.

Wednesday September 25th at 7pm with refreshments from 6.30pm

The report will be launched on September 25th commencing at 7pm at the National Botanic Gardens in association with the Irish Meteorological Society and the National Botanic Gardens.
