OK, it's getting to that time of year again, thank God.

Anyone have any suggestions for good off-piste resorts? I've been to the Three Valleys which is great for that, but I'm looking for somewhere new (but not La Grave  ) .

Verbier -Pircey but best easily accesiable terrain in EU, you can stay in Nendaz to cut costs.

Chamonix - You will need a guide and it gets pricey

Andermatt - Under massive re-development programme but great terrain.

Engelberg - Best Big mountain resort in the Alps quite Mon-Friday great snow and cheap compared to the other options.

    N.America, - REVELSTOKE, REVELSTOKE REVELSTOKE

    Kicking Horse

    Ski Big 3 Banff

    Breckenridge,

    Squaw Valley

    Jackson Hole.

I'd add St Anton to that list too

I'm lying here in 30 degrees thinking about skiing and met a Belgian couple last night who are more or less the same!

I always leave Anton off my list of this for some reason. If you do Anton don't forget the Ski School do what they call the Power club every week the best €10 you will ever spend & the cheapest high quality guiding in the Alps

Engelberg looks interesting, but are there enough slopes to keep you going a week?

Fair question but If it is off piste you want No chance, some of the longest and steepest stuff in Europe, the variety of terrain on both sides will keep you plenty busy for a week even two or a whole season if you are into cliffs. Piste wise it is limited but that is not why you go there, piste skiing is for dull and uninteresting people ;)

Engelberg is so close to Andermatt you can even nip across the road by train its only an hour, to go ski for the day or mix both up. Engelberg is probably the best mix in the alps between off piste and cost. Now if only the Swedes would bugger off and stop sneaking pre lift tracks it would be perfect.
