    Hi All,

I have a genuine car accessory (thin chrome strip) for the front of my cars bumper (bought online). The chrome accessory is made of plastic and came with a sticky backing. I put it on but it came off and now has lost its sticky backing. Was thinking of using a small amount of superglue to affix but was wondering if anyone has any other suggestions?

    Many thanks

    Double sided sticky tape?

3M double sided tape is what you want. Halfords might stock something like it.
Clean the bumper and the back of your chrome strip with some isopropynol. It'll stick then.

You will have to remove the tape that's on it before doing anything else. Take it all off including any residue (remove with alcohol wipes or something like that), wipe the part of the car it's going to be on with alcohol wipes too. This removes any wax/silicone-based products and gives the tape the best possible surface to bond to.

Most motor factors stock double sided tape, it's kind of a foam tape but if you can get your hands on the grey 3M one, that's the best there is for automotive use.
