06 vw caddy suspension questions?

hi all, i have a 06 vw caddy tdi bought last november with 147000km on the clock. I have nearly 175k on it now driving some of the worst roads in the country. I've been noticing it feeling very soft and shakey recently on the rough stretches of road. i got it up on a lift for a lad to take a look and see. He reconed the anti roll bar bushings in the rear were gone which was plain to see, and shock top bearings also gone as it was growling a bit when turning the stearing wheel. He didn't seem to think the wish bone bushings were too bad but alot on here and a few parts suppliers say they dont last and probably gone too? it is wearing the inside edge of both front tires. i got the anti roll bushings, shock top bearings and the big rear wish bone bushings (just the rubber, not the aluminium housing). the bushings look straight forward to fit but my question is firstly, is it a big job to get at the shock top's and get the bearings in, and secondly, should i go and change the small front W B bushings also as some have suggested on here that they can be the problem with inside tire wear? i plan to swap the worn tires onto the back and get two new fronts fitted and a four wheel alignment done after the few bits are done to try and get it fairly right. what do ye think?

Definitely do both sets of wishbone bushes, front and rear. Did you get genuine VW parts? Most spurious bushes are a waste of time IMO, so genuine is the way to go.

The top mount bearings are a bigger job than the wishbone bushes, but if you are doing both jobs together it will make it easier. If you remove the wishbones first and then remove the shocks while the wishbones are out it will be a big help.

You will also need spring compressors to fit the top mount bearings.

Thanks George. Yes got all genuine vw parts. I was pricing around but the better brands were nearly as expensive as the genuine stuff so same difference. yes, would have the spring compressors somewhere all right. will get the front bushes for it too. how long should I expect to get out of the new bushes?
