    "You should be wearing a helmet," he 'replies'.

    "No, it's not required"


    What I should have added:

    "...But then again, maybe is advisable, along with full body armour, if you're implying you consider that sort of driving acceptable and that I should be prepared for a hit..." :rolleyes:

    A white van changed lanes and stopped at a red light in front of me yesterday evening. I just stopped beside him and noticed his window down. Expecting the usual, I was surprised by his statement : fair play to you having your lights on, it really made you visible from way back.
    Indeed was my response, this weather and light is worse than midwinter. (low direct sunlight and headed directly west)
    We chatted about the spanners causing mayhem in the traffic. Just cycled through them was my response.
