Does anyone know if you can get the Sky F1 (formula 1) channel without subscribing to the full sports package. My son has really taken with F1 this year. BBC doesn't show all the races, and for those he misses he insists on visiting friends of ours to see it!

We just have the basic home entertainment package.

I have the Sky HD pack. I bought the HD pack purely for the F1 channel as it is part of the deal but now I could not be without HD. The difference is just insane.

Hmmm, I don't get the whole HD thing. A friend showed me on his, he thought it was brilliant! but I actually couldn't see any difference!

Being honest, If you pud the SD package of skysports and the HD package of sky sports side by side on the same tv. It is night and day in the difference. I mean complete night and day. not even vaguely similar.

Did you try watching the ManYoo CL game on TV3, then try it on ITV1 HD? The difference is startling.

Then they weren't doing it right and had the HD box connected by scart, not HDMI cable. There's a huge difference

also, depending on the time of day, not all content on the HD channels is actually HD, some was made before HD

Thanks all. Been on Sky website - €15 per month for HD subscription. Will mull it over. Anyone know if you literally subscribe for just one channel?! As well as our entertainment package?

Hi, HD pack is reflective of what package you have, it gives you the HD version of your current stations if they are available.

I got HD for a year for an extra 5 euro a month plus i got a new 2TB box for free ! Already had two hd boxes so I just replaced the one in my sitting room. Great deal for me, I know it doesnt suit everyone but it suits me down to the ground.

I rang them about two weeks ago and asked had they any offers, said i could have that deal but it'd be 30 to install, told them to forget it as its only a swap of a couple of wires so after a consultation with the supervisor they charged me 30 euro but refunded back to my account straight away.

Bottom line, ring them and haggle :D Hope this helps

Watching TV in non HD hurts my eyes :D

Seriously tho as was said above the difference between HD and non HD is amazing especially on the sports channels.

Regarding the F1 Sky really do what they do best and thats make it a bigger deal that what it actually is. Any F1 fan would love the amount of coverage on Sky F1. Im not a huge fan of F1 but id watch it on Sky rather than Setanta or BBC and thats because of the level of detail and the amount of access they have to the teams which makes it more entertaining.

Until Sky get rid of Simon Lazenby then the BBC will always get the nod when they are live
