    Hey folks,

Can anyone tell me when the following became illegal/a foul in Hurling:

    Dropping the hurley
    Hand pass a goal

Any help greatly appreciated to settle an argument :D

It's not a foul to drop a hurley by accident
It's only a foul if the hurley is dropped intentionally or thrown

Indeed, any idea when that rule was introduced?

Imo, the single worst rule in hurling. If you have possession it is of zero benefit to drop your hurley unless it's being held.

It's not a foul to drop your hurley or handpass a goal in camogie . Hurling should adopt both those rules i think. Would reward high fielding on the edge of the square.

Sorry for going off topic, no idea when the rule was introduced.
