He's the man who pushed Nintendo to embrace electronic gaming over Hanafuda cards. He was key to the policy of 'games as art', pushing for quality over quantity for consoles. He was, frankly, one of the most pivotal forces in making gaming the force that it is today.

    RIP, Hiroshi Yamauchi.

RIP you crazy table flipping son of a bitch. He was a total nut ball but without him the world would have had to play Master System instead of the NES and that would be a horrible fate :P

Famed Nintendo composer Hirokazu Tanaka has remixed two of the most iconic Nintendo theme songs in honor of the passing of Hiroshi Yamauchi, former president of Nintendo. Both Metroid and Super Mario Land were remixed as tributes to Yamauchi, as both are titles Tanaka worked on while Yamauchi was president of the company.
