Hi,

Was wondering if someone could lend me advice. I was receiving €188 BTEA last year which was my first year in college, I have now started my second year but noticed my first BTEA payment was only €158.70. I was getting €144 JSA over the summer as I am 23, but because I am not a new BTEA applicant and I was getting the full €188 last year, am I entitled to get the same €188 again this year?

Maybe your first payment is only for part of a week? Best people to ask would be the Social Welfare wallahs.

You should be getting 188 this year

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

finally got through to the office (took a few hours), and i got it sorted. It was just a discrepancy while it adjusts. I will be getting 188 next week. cheers for the help!
