    well lads,

I have a car off the road for some time, its tax,nct etc is expired.

Last nct disc on window had an expiry date of 31-12-12.

when is the earliest I can nct this car for to get a maximum nct?

I know a longer nct may if done a few months early(15 months nct I think) but not sure what the situation is with such a long expired nct.

car is a 1996,sorry if it sems a silly question,iv never been in a situation where I have to renew and expired nct

NCT for 10 years or older is 1 year NCT so if you were 4 months past the date you would get 8 months NCT

But he's almost 9 months past the date so should get 15 months on the cert if he waits till October as you can do the test 3 months early.
