how much is underground per metre cable I need to bring from the shed to a pump house for a well circa 50 /60 metres . The new power point will only be required to provide power to a pump for water

it depends on the strength such as 3 or 4 core SWA cable, im no expert but it can be expensive enough. For some reason 5 euro a metre is in my head but could be wrong

Quoted €4.60 meter recently, for 10 sq, three core underground cable.
You MIGHT get away with 6 square, but check with a sparky (one who knows, that is) The voltage drop over 60 meters in the lighter cable, might not be good, over the long term for your pump motor.

i put in a 4 core SWA cable to a pump house last year that was 100m away. I put in a light and a few double sockets too for good measure

4 euro 40 cents - 4 euro 50 cents per meter is about the going price for 3 core 10sq SWA at the moment.

External diameter of it would be around 19mm.

then ad in €20 for a pick and €25 for a shovel :D

I have used that armour cable stuff in a few places here. Hit it and a 1/2 water pipe in March that i had layed 2 years ago. I can report the breaker switch all worked . Im a danger on a digger :)

Thats what red ESB/electrical ducting is for.

You also install warning tape in the trench and you also back fill with at least 4-5 inches of gravel/grit over the underground utilities...so that when you dig down and you see the grit/gravel comming up,you know you are close to underground utilities.

Also SWA should be installed 600mm below ground for safety purposes.
