As one lad pointed out to me its 85 euro for an all ireland ticket so makes it sound cheap.

Indeed. And alot of the tat stalls shouldn't be on show.
It's expensive, but it's the only show I go to so I don't mind too much.

2O yo yos won't bring you far these days unfortunately . Sure some of the local shows around here are charging a tenner in and you would have most of it seen from the gate anyhow . At least you wil get a good days worth of viewing from the ploughing championships

The thing that should be changed is the price of the tickets preordered. they should be around 15 euro at most. Its terrible that you have to get 10 tickets for only a 10% discount

Exactly what I was going to say, even though I wouldn't go if it were across the road and free entry the all Ireland that is.

Not excessive compared to the local shows where you are lucky to get in for a fiver.

Where else in Ireland would you get the same spread of stands for no matter what kind of investment you are thinking of on farm.

As a comparison, how much is entry into the Tullamore show?

its 15 euro into the tullamore show

I just looked at the list of stands in the IFJ pull out, there are 124 of them I want to go see, and that's not counting how ever many will catch my eye on the day. I think for that amount of potential info - true, a lot are there to sell you stuff, but no one is forcing anyone to buy anything - that €20 is quite good value. More so again when I think of how easily people throw away €20 normally in their day to day life and don't give that a seconds thought.

Now, what I may have a quibble with after the fact will be food prices as I intend to go early and leave late which will mean eating on site.

Bring the sambos . My wife god love her soft heart was almost in tears when she saw the "poor" farmers eating sambos out of the boot of the car in the car park in tullamore ! So I let her pay for the chips inside ha ha . We will be bringing sambos next year she said

Judging by the state of the toilets they should be charging double.

Food is a rip off - the Bord Bia tent is lovely but never again - like €10 for a small steak sandwich.

Now, I work in Dublin and can get a full pub dinner for that:rolleyes:

Will be bringing the sambos here too and hit a pub for dinner on the way home and hopefully not a dive like two years ago.

I stopped the last few years in tyrellspass castle, co westmeath on way home. Get the brekkie roll on the way there and maybe a burger while there. Its a long day from 5am to 10 or 11.

That's the trouble with stopping off for dinner, you wait an hour for your order by which time you would be half way home. When you get it it could be sh1te.
