They were 2/1 Messi to score a hat trick tonight :eek:
    Boyles & Lads were 4/1, PP 5/1, Coral & Bet Victor 6/1.

I've never seen 2/1 before for a hat trick.

Reminds me of something I read somewhere. If Ladbrokes are best price about an event occurring avoid like the plague. Strangely enough any time I had a bet with them at best price I had more losers than winners.

Are you inferring that Ladbrokes might have inside information on Champions League football?

Not in the slightest. Just saying their odds compilers are possibly a cut above the other companies.

    OR

That they're usually miserable bastards with their pricing

That they're usually miserable bastards with their pricing

That would be closer to the truth football wise.

365 football odds can be amongst the worst on some markets especially
    scorecasts

soldado/1-0 was 15s yesterday with them when i looked
    this was 28s with betv

anytime i look for a scorecast they are the shortest bar none

Best football odds are Bet Victor, Hills & Paddy Power by a mile.
Ladbrokes & Boyles are miles behind Paddy Power in Ireland.

365 offer an infinite number of places for their each way betting.

Therefore, if Barca are playing a team where they are expected a load of goals, they have to go short on all of their 1st goalscorer prices to minimise the amount of value that they are giving away for the each way bets.

Their hat trick prices are derived from their first goalscorer prices. So, if their 1st goalscorer price is too short, their hat trick price is going to be too short as well.

It is just a coincidence that it clicked when there was such a price variation.

If ladbrokes were such good football compilers, they wouldn't shut down accounts as quickly as they do.

Just to note, hattricks can get as low as 1/1s for some internationals, although they're pretty rare.

I got closed for winning small over a 3 year period

Maybe against the likes of Faro Islands etc but but not for "ordinary" matches.

Bet365 do infinite places, PP do 5 places on e/w betting on 1st goalscorers.
Big difference though between 365's 2's and PP 5's?
Ladbrokes no longer do e/w betting, they said because of that, their prices would improve, we'll see how that one goes.

Big enough. Check the over 5.5 goals in the Barca matches, even though it's unlikely there is a half decent chance that it will happen. It's not a massive difference, but that difference could account for a couple of percent at the end of the season, and if you are staking big, a couple of percent can mean a lot of money.

It is important to note though that even if you are getting good each way value, you could be losing so much value in the 1st scorer part of the bet that it's not worth backing regardless of the each way value. Generally, a bigger price at 5 places is going to be better than a short price at infinite places, but it all depends on the situation.

Yeah, they're the worst, I know people who have had accounts that were losing a lot be closed, but then again, it's the bets/prices that they look at, not the results.

Although in saying that, they have been best price on nearly all of the main candidates in all of the Prem matches that I have looked up this season so far.

But if you're solely backing them, you'll probably get restricted ;)

Betfair sportsbook premier league odds are one of, if the the best on a Saturday from about 9am onwards. I regularly record book %'s and they are betting it between 101-102.

I didn't notice that but one has to wonder how much money they are taking and are willing to take at those competitive prices.

Pinnicle or VC for me - Pinnicle because they're brilliant, and VC because I would rather support them than others since they are pushing the boundaries (eg doing League 2 to 103%!)

Don't know how you reckon that?
I keep a record of the "6 Main" teams in the PL every week with all the main bookies and by a mile, Bet Victor, Hills & Paddy Power
are way ahead of the rest.
Coral & Boyles would be the worst of the larger bookies.
Ladbrokes are never at the top.
Ladbrokes shop odds are shorter then their internet prices a lot of the time.
Next time you are in a shop look at the match prices which are normally to 112% and compare them to the Internet which is around 105/6%.

Never used Pinnacle, what are they like?

One thing I have been told is, never back before 5pm on a Friday as the bookie have to send their prices into the Racing Post and they all try to
be the biggest prices when they publish the tables in Saturday's paper.

they are betting it between 101-102.
    That's insane .

you keep a record of the goalscorer prices? Because that's what I was referring to anyway.

Pinnacle would probably be the biggest company around along with the Asian companies and would dwarf the UK companies you named. They don't restrict any customer, and their limits are the highest around. They don't offer as many matches as other traditional bookmakers, but for grade A stuff, they pretty much won't be beaten.

Pinnacle look an interesting outfit all right.
