Hi ... I need to get a Timing Chain replaced on 04 Micra (K12 Model). I realise it's an expensive enough job (labor intensive) but has anybody got experience getting this done before (apparently it's a known problem on early K12 models ~2003).

Any recommendations re: quality workmanship / decent cost - Dublin area. ?

I got one done on a 05 cost me over 500 quid , but that was last year and done by a garage I use on a very regular basis.

Your right though very labour intensive and costly

There's only 52K on the current engine (legit).

the cars mileage at age 04 means little to most, they were very popular up north and hence an engine can be picked up in Traynors etc easily with similar miles.
Personally I'd get rid of it, as rust is a major problem on them too...

Unfortunately can't afford to get rid .... if I could I would have changed it ages ago .... not a very economical car in terms of MPG for a car it's size.

    You live and learn.
