Second Income

I am working full-time but looking into writing short stories and novels for sale online to supplement my current income. I was just wondering when it comes to tax and that how I go about reporting this second income?

Checking the Revenue website, I can only see things about having a second job as it relates to tax credits. I was hoping someone here could help explain a bit more as to what I do in this situation? Cheer for any help!

depending on the amount of non paye income you may be able to file a Form 12

It is possible that the income source is tax exempt as an original work of artistic merit. Call revenue about this, you will still be obliged to do a tax return but could well have no additional income tax to pay, but you may have to pay PRSI/USC.

Paul71 is correct but you will need to apply for the artist exemption and submit copies of your work etc.
