interesting, i wonder if it'll be closely linked with survivors from the walking dead or set in another state entirely?

I'd hope they wouldn't link it to the current series at all and just go for a completely original cast of characters, keeping well away from the locations etc. they've already used/established.

just thinkin' could be the warden and his two goons gone off to set up a new community.

    I'd watch that tbh :)

I'd hazard a guess they're keeping those guys for a "recurring villains" type thing on WD. Still, I would enjoy a series with The Warden too :pac:

Hope they don't link it to the psn game.

Or maybe they are making the webisodes into a proper series.

    very possible, considering this
AMC also recently announced that it is developing a companion series to The Walking Dead, based on a new story and new characters from Robert Kirkman.

I'd like to see more bits of how it all began, more than the brief flashbacks

I'd like to see a completely new story. I would like to see how it all kicked off through the eyes of some ordinary Joe.

I hope they do this well.

They might be able to pull it off too. I think the reason most zombie flicks have avoided showing the actual breakout is due to budgetary reasons of having such a large set piece. Then it just became the done thing in hollywood films to copy the survivors storyline.

Not sure if spoilers are needed, but will chuck them in just in case.

If it is a new story and new characters from Kirkman, then maybe that discounts adaptations of comic characters, but what came to mind was either
the Hilltop colony or the smaller Alexandria safe zone
    from the comics.

Could see how one or both of those were established, and that of course would bring in, either by seeing or just through mentioning,
    Negan
as the next big bad. Then the season end episodes of both the original walking dead series and the spin off series could be the original group being met by
Aaron from the Hilltop safe zone
    .

The Walking dead episode ending on the originals seeing a guy coming towards them saying he was
    Aaron
, and the spin off series ending on
    Aaron's
pov as he approached a group that were unfamilar to him.

    That would be BRILLIANT.

    Oh course if/when
    Negan
or a character inspired by him comes into TWD main series, it will surely see a storyline that sees some established characters killed off.

    Could well see
    "Lucile"
    being very thirsty.

Although I do suspect that in the tv show a variation
of the herd attack that was launched against Negan in the comics
will be used by the Governor.

It's funny that when ye think of the success of CSI, now being compared with TWD, speaks volumes about the show
