Does anyone else find that the quality of shoes in recent years has become appalling? Even supposedly good brand shoes are just terrible.

Can anyone recommend somewhere I can get a couple of pairs of Oxford shoes (preferably brick and mortar store)

I do agree with you but I have found there actually still is amazing quality shoes but you just can't seem to get em in the shops. They all seem to be online. A couple of brands I have purchased recently that have been great quality have been 'H by hudson' & 'Grenson shoes'

Office on grafton street do stock some H by Hudson but selection is quite poor. As sneaky as it sounds you could try pop in and try a pair on for size then go online for the full selection. I seem to be the same size in all shoes and only buy them online now. All quality brands have same sizing in my experience which for me seems to be a size down from any trainers i buy.

Here's an awesome site for shoes but very pricey but just to shoe you quality still does exist

    Happy shopping :)

Any idea how much you want to spend? Arnotts and Brown Thomas would have fairly good shoe selections, or Fitzpatrick's on Grafton St.

Surprising TK Maxx has decent selection of leather shoes now and again. It just takes a few trips

Good shoes that last: Church's, Barker, etc.,

Herring Shoes in the UK ship them. Church's are expensive but will likely outlive you.

Know anywhere I can try them on for fitting?

You also have Thomas Patricks beside Fitzpatricks on grafton st. and Boylans shoes nearby in the Royal Hibernian way.

Got myself a pair of Loakes earlier in the year.
Pricey but well worth it. Comfortable, stylish and durable.

Boylans is the best by far.
