The screen appears black unles you're directly in front of it. Stops anyone at your side from glancing over at what you're typing about, and/or reading on your monitor.

Was working in an office today, and noticed a girls screen with this on it, her boss sits about 7 feet behind her over her shoulder.

I can vouch that they work really well, from any angle but directly in front its near impossible to see, obviously the nearer you are to directly in front the more clarity you can get.
