Ok, I was going to get a SFX but 450w is too low for the minimum by manufactures of 550-600. There would be no problem if I wanted a different case for this, Fractal Design Node 304 mITX. That's why I can't use a modular/semi-modular power supply as the case would be too close for use a modular cable.

I would have normally picked any old non-modular psu, but I need a quiter gold/platinum if possible.

I'd seen Corsairs new one the HX, it's great but still modular and same with rosewill. Also It is a Haswell Mobo Z87

Can you point me in any directions, I've looked but it's hard as they don't state whether they are modular/semi-modular/non-modular? :(

450w is enough for basically any single gaming card. Quality over quantity. What card do you have? And what CPU (heavily overclocked FX-8000 CPU might warrant another 100w on top of that 450).

I7-4770K, asus maximus VI impact and an asus 780-DC2-OC.

How much watts is irrellevent. As the Corsair has a silent for 40% load. Overclocking will bring up the power usage.

Yes. 450w is actually enough to be honest. Tdp of a 780 is 250 watts, you system under load will draw less than 450w. Maybe getting 550 is better (for reasons of efficiency, but, to be honest, even under full load you're looking at ~80% of max power draw, which is fine.

They are using only a single drive AFAIK, so it's a lean system, but they have a 4770k at 4.8ghz, unless you are insanely lucky with your chip and/or you are going water, you won't be going any higher than that.

When you say silent PSU, do you mean silent or really quiet?

yes, yes yes, that is all well and good but still haven't answered my query. Also 400w for the card and 75w for the mobo does equal to more than 450watt. If I can only take a 1500w silent psu I'll take it. I didn't ask for how many watts is there (other that 500/550w). Please don't keep acting like a dick, a simple question was all that I asked. Really, a simple question.

Recommend a good quite/silent non-modular psu (using the Z87 itx) higher that 550w.

Ya, I'm such a dick. Read my bloody posts, I'm being nothing but helpful.

Read my link, your system AS A WHOLE will NOT draw more than 400w. Your card's TDP is 250 watts man.

Getting a 1500w PSU would be madness.

Where are you getting your numbers? I have you a bet helpful link which should have satisfied all your inquiries to that effect (number-wise).

Would you please clarify as to what you mean by a silent PSU? Fanless? Or one that is just quiet in general? (Most are anyways relative to the rest of your system).

Gumbi was trying to help you with this and pointing out that manufacturers quote higher wattage to cover themselves from people using cheap PSU that may blow when good quality lower wattage units would be fine.
