    Folks
    Is it possible under the rules of CI, to be a member of 2 clubs?
    Note not for racing by the way
    Thanks

    Yes, but your CI licence is issued in the name of one only. In addition some club members are members of the IVCA, but not CI, and some are members of both.

    What Beasty said, I am a member of Tiernans and Audax. I am listed by CI under Tiernans for my license but am included in both clubs as a member.

    A little churlish for this hour of the morning perhaps but note that apparently under Pats copy of the UCI rules you can be a member of as many "The Federation" as you like , so imho it would be very unreasonable of them to stop you being a member of more than one club.

    Here's one, can you only race for the club on your licence or could you race certain races for the different clubs you are affiliated with. Lets say I was a member of a racing club and a small local club from different counties.

    Could I race the County Championships for the small club who ordinarily wouldn't have any racers of note?

    Seen this rule apparently broken many times this year, especially in stage racing, so confused by your answer?

    Exaamples would be the regional teams that have entered stage competitions. Also I think people have guested for other clubs when they were unable to get sufficient numbers from own club.

    There are exceptions for stage races and composite selections. The regulations state:
    5. A rider being a member of both a Team and a Club as defined in rule T1.4 above, unless given written approval by the Board of Cycling Ireland, must compete under the Team name save for the following exceptions:
    (a) A National, Provincial or County team selection;
    (b) As a member of a mixed team;
    (c) In a stage race where the approved special race regulations allows for a rider to compete as a guest, on a team other than that stated on his licence. No more that one guest rider will be permitted on any team with a maximum of 4 riders and 2 guest riders on a team of 5 or more riders.

    6. In respect of rules T1.5(b) and T1.5(c) above, a rider participating on a composite team or as a guest rider, must be in possession of a letter from his Team/Club giving permission to compete for a team other than that as stated on his licence.

    See Vlads excerpt form tech regs. I can be a member of Swords and Dublin Wheelers but can only ride for one in normal 1 day races. In other events as outlined above I can ride for another team.

    there's a "suitability" test and initiation ceremony to get through first though ....

    (the suitability test involves chasing down your team mates in a break and the initiation ceremony involves red lights)

    Considering the typical Swords jersey I see when I head up North the initiation obviously involves breaking the second part of your spoiler.

    I figured as much just wanted to make sure
    Thanks for the replies
