    What did the Japanese soldier say to Watts at the end of the film when he was captured in the feild. Seen the film loads of times and would love to know what was said.

    basically along the lines of:

    "Put down your weapon or we'll shoot; I dont want to kill you if we dont have to"

    Not sure of the scene you're talking about, but I love when it's done in like; where you're not sure what was said and whether it is important or not. It reminds me of the beginning of The Thing -

    Where they discover the Norwegian, who keeps shouting at them in his own language while the dog is licking their faces, which the Americans didn't understand and is translated to -
    "Get the hell outta there. That's not a dog, it's some sort of thing! It's imitating a dog, it isn't real! Get away, you idiots!"
    . So, basically, if you speak Norwegian, then you had a better idea about what was happening in the movie than the rest of the World.
