    Windows 7 or 8?

    Hi guys,

I am about to order a new build based on a build suggested by 'BloodBath' (thanks man) below:
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=86392613&postcount=8

All of the builds that I have read suggest windows 7, but why use this over windows 8?

From what I've read, it's apparently still got problems that haven't been sorted yet, seeing as it's a new OS. Whereas the older Win7 has had all its issues sorted out. Could be other reasons but that's what I've read.

    Hope that helps!

Cheers Aidan, I was thinking that it was along those lines.

    Time to spend some money!

either, windows 8 gets a lot of hate for its start menu but I find it much easier to use, you just start typing what you need and its there

I spent a day using Win 8 sorting stuff on the new pc without really thinking about it and I got used to it in that time.

Few things are a bit fiddly but runs well and no OS-based problems yet.

I did go from Vista to Win 8. Didn't use Win 7 much so can't comment much on that in comparison.

They're suggesting Windows 7 because they found a German site where it's very cheap. Apart from the new UI, which can be fixed, there is nothing wrong with going with Windows 8.

Windows 8 is heavily designed for touchscreens - its a like/hate thing (personally it drives me insane)

Nothing wrong with Windows 7 and it's well refined by this stage

I find it good that when you click start that you just start typing what you want instead of trying to find the right link

You can turn Window 8 into Windows 7 with a few clicks.

Its not much different once you turn off metro.
