I read a story about the a music mogul from the 1980's who was approached and pitched an "opportunity" by undisclosed persons at a meeting in LA back at the end of that decade. In summary, the meeting extended an idea to all those in attendance that the emerging hip hop industry and the, at that stage, new privatised prison system that the US government was granting operations license to, had a strong connection. That somehow certain groups would help to fulfil this new systems capacity and that the signing and promotion of aggressive and territorial gangster rap artist would help to perpetuate a level of criminality.

It was an interesting letter that certainly made me think, but thats about it.

Anyway, this was released today: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFWK6yWXynw

If nothing else it's interesting and I'll be keeping an eye out for the 23rd to see what else this guy has to say.

hahaha yeah same as that mate! i just got a flashback to that article when I saw this. It's valid enough confirmation that the american government saw the power of the the music industry as a political/social tool if used in the right way. I need to find that letter again, I'll link it here if I do!

hahaha I actually love it! :D

Awesome song and class lyrics and story! Really reminds me of Eminem in his early days when he told crazy stories and had characters and scenarios running through his work.

Now he's just "angry" and boring.

Just seen some post the op video on facebook, with the following quote..
"It is urgent that all American citizens view this video.
Please spread with haste as I do not know
how long this video or channel will be active.
    God Bless ...

Listened to the supposed call, doesn't sound real at all.
Sounds more like it was edited/scripted and possibly voice acting too.
Whole thing couldn't look more fake imo ^^

Oh but in the second video the rap was pretty good :)

I was just listening to a 2pac song

    and thought of this....

    obama.jpg

I was wondering if the targeted age group for the time that song came out, were in the targeted voting age range when Obama was going for president.

Found this with a quick search, but haven't looked at any of it yet.
    Might be of interest.
