    I see its been posted few time over the years but just thought I report anyway as I didnt know about this until today! Fantastic piece of FREE software, you must have a try;

    What is WorldWide Telescope?

    WWT is an application that runs in Windows that utilizes images and data stored on remote servers enabling you to explore some of the highest resolution imagery of the universe available in multiple wavelengths.

    Note: Its resources intensive and requires to be online!
