I was told last week that I will be let go at the end of the month but will havean on-demand contract so if things pick up I could get a day or two a week. Ihave started to look for work in themean time but not looking good at the moment but hopefully something will come up before then.

I am wondering what I would beentitled too. I looked up on wefare.ie and a few other websites but hard tofind any info. I would be looking for a rough idea so we can plan financiallyfor the next few months if we have to.

My wife is working and she takes home around €400 weekly. We have 1child and I have another daughter from a previous relationship who lives up thecountry.

    Thanks

If you have an entitlement to jobseekers benefit you will receive €188 pw. You will not receive a payment for your spouse or child who lives with you as your spouses earnings are >€300 pw. If you work 2-3 days per week on a regular basis then sw will switch your claim to a casual category. If the days worked are sporadic then you can let sw know after the fact and they can deduct the day from your next payment. If you work 3 days pw you will receive half of €188 payment.

There is a good site here

    http://www.losingyourjob.ie/

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

    Not necessarily

If the wages of the OP were less than 300 per week then he would get a lower rate

    No you would receive 75.20

20% of 188 is taken off for each of the 3 days

    The rates are here

Mango, could I ask you more about this? My wages were not less that 300 per week so this wouldn't apply to me I presume?

It's based on what your wages were in the contribution year 2011
