    Hi,

Just wondering how much my car would be either private sale or a trade in?

2005 Volkswagen Golf FSI 1.6 3 Door. 3 owners from new. Good condition all around. Mileage 115,000km. Fully serviced and timing belt, water pump changed. New brakes fitted all round January 2013. Car is running 18" BBS CH reps with Kuhmo tyres and 15mm H&R Hubcentric spacers at the rear. Taxed till Nov 2013. NCT has been booked so how much should I be looking for private sale taking into account it has a new NCT?

    Cheers

The FSI engine doesn't have a timing belt, it uses a chain. So is yours just a regular 1.6?

An easy way to tell if you aren't sure is that the FSI is 6 speed, the regular 1.6 is 5 speed.

Thanks George for the reply. It's just a regular 1.6 5 speed.

You did some work on it a few years back (lambda sensor replacement).

How much do you reckon it would fetch either through a private sale or trade in?

    Cheers

Best bet would be to check the prices of similar cars on donedeal.

Bump - George could you give me an idea on what you think price wise?

Thanks for all the replies so far.

I was watching one like yours from a dealer for 4.5k, so I'm guessing if you take 3.5k, you should be happy.

I'd agree with a €5k asking price, expecting 20% less than that. Your right in the middle of the average mileage band.
