Strange worms in my house - anyone identify them please?

    Hi,
Hopefully I have attached this picture correctly. Can anyone tell me what these worms are...they are everywhere inside the house. I am constantly hoovering them up. When they die, they kind of curl up into a 'C' shape. They are very thin...around 2-3 mm in thickness and maybe 3cm in length.
Is there anything (pest control wise) that i can get to stop them? Thanks very much.

They are not worms but millipedes. You should be able to see tiny legs.

They come indoors in September and are to be found in debris such as wood log piles, under loose stones, plant pots, compost bags, in mulched flowerbeds etc. Clear away any such items near the house.

Not to worry you, but sometimes they are an indication of rot in floor timbers - it maybe worth checking.

A vacuum cleaner is is excellent for living them. It may be worth checking for cracks that are allowing them in.

Ant powder, I believe, will deter them.

Thank you so much! They do have tiny legs - you are right! I'm relieved to hear what they are...there are a lot of pots and plants just outside the door. I'll have to check the wooden floors too.
Many thanks. I was afraid they could be something more harmful!
