We automatically received our renewed medical cards this morning valid until 11-2014 but my sons is only until 12-2013.

I know this is because he is 16 in December but does anyone know does he automatically qualify and will they just send it out as he currently has a medical card or does he need to send in an application form ?

    Thanks.

    He will need to apply.

What Happens when a Child Turns 16?
Young people aged 16 years to 25 years, who are financially dependent on their parents, each get their own card when they apply, if their parents are eligible for a Medical Card. If you are not dependent on your parents, your own means and income is considered for assessment.
