Macbook Air 11 vs 13

I'm going to buy either the Macbook Air 11 or the 13". The battery life is the main selling point.

I recently sold my Macbook Pro 13" and found it a decent sized, if somewhat bulky, laptop.

I have a 27 iMac, which I use for my main machine. The laptop is for writing blog posts and various other assignments on the go. I will also use it for some very light image editing and web browsing.

    It the 11" too small?

Also, how necessary is 8GB of RAM?

    Thanks.

I just bought a 13 inch MacBook Air. I personally think the 11 inch is a bit small. With the ram it really depends what your doing the 4gb is more than enough for the basics like iTunes surfing web email that kind of stuff. Going by what you want it for the 4gb would be ok the only possible issue would the photo editing but if it nothing too serious you should be ok.

As for battery life I find mine unbelievable 10 hours is easily achievable if your only surfing the web doing emails. It's great it just feels like you never have to charge it.

My 2011 11" has bad battery life and it really feels like it constantly has to be plugged in. Was watching breaking bad in bed last night and got 2 and a half episodes before it was dead from full charge...

The 2013 models have the Haswell processors and far great battery life.

I've got the 13" MBA, 512ssd and 8gb of RAM and it's a wee beastie. Have an old 20" iMac C2D and it absolutely pee's all over it in terms of speed. Battery life is phenomenal except when doing heavy duty video work which kicks up the fans and processor. Instant startup and wake. Great machine.
