Just to get some ideas what people are using,
What kind of upload/download limits do you have on your dongle?

    Who has the best deals?

We've used one or two but the 5 gig limit runs out pretty quick if you do much online like watching media or streaming audio.
It works well for streaming but the limits are one of my main concerns.

If you want to actually get and *use* broadband get broadband and not worry about tiny limits, mobile is not really broadband as you have noticed...

All the mobile internet providers have minuscule limits, contrary to what the marketing speak seems to imply eg "loads of data" or whatever

Chances are he can't... ? This is Ireland, infrastructure here is sh!t. It's responses like these that are beyond annoying. So easy to say, ain't it? "Just get better broadband!"...

Anyways, back on topic - Vodafone and 3 both offer up to 60GB. Might be worth taking a look at that. Keep in mind of the contract durations, and the fact 4G's coming out.

Point taken about infrastructure...but expecting mobile to be like real broadband is just plain silly.

However, in all likelihood LTE (4G) will be much the same as current 3G offerings thanks to the ineptitude of Comreg so don't expect a massive improvement there.
