I recently bought a 2010 Audi A3 1.6 TDI with 76k miles (122k KM) on the clock. I'm just wondering about how soon I need to change the timing belt on it.

The official word is to change it at 120k miles, but I've heard they revised that downwards, so does anyone know what the true story is? I'll be getting it changed at an independent garage.

I hadn't heard anything about it being revised downwards. If you PM me the reg or chassis number I will get you the official Audi interval tomorrow.

I just checked Autodata and it says 75k miles or 5 years. I will check with Audi tomorrow out of interest.

Audi say 210,000km is the interval.

    thanks for that george.

Why is there a discrepancy between the two sources? The Audi interval is almost twice that of the autodata, so which would you recommend going for?

The Audi interval is straight from the horse's mouth so to speak so I would be happy to go with that.
