Very sad to hear the news that radio legend, Henry Owens passed away today after a long battle with cancer.

He can still be heard on air today, as he is the voice of Dublins Q102.

    RIP

Very sad news. Started off many years ago as Alan Reed? I think on CBC Cork.

    RIP Henry

His energy for radio was unparalleled. One of the greatest station voice overs ever.

    God bless him.

Henry was one of the good guys.
So sorry to hear of his passing, RIP Henry.
I worked at Atlantic 252 when Henry was there and I remember Q102 (original) days too

They're paying tribute to him here on red fm. They're calling him Henry condon. Have to admit I've never heard of him but everyone's speaking well of him. RIP

    Irish Examiner report http://www.irishexaminer.com/ireland/cweymhcwgboj/rss2/

Says Henry started with South Coast but in fact he started with CBC in 78/79 and was also on Radio City and CCLR in the early 80s before joining South Coast Radio in 82

That's a really great tribute from Vic Barry's show last night.

    Well done everyone involved.

Neil Prenderville just broke down on 96FM during a tribute. Met him a few times and we shared a soccer team. Really nice guy. RIP
