    Hi Folks

Could anybody tell me why lots 707 and 708 went for so much money at the Saturday 14th Whyte’s auction? I’ve seen Lady Lavery’s with those denominations issued in ’77 got for a lot less. Is it something to do with the serial numbers? I’m a casual collector of Irish banknotes and am looking to learn more.

    Lot 707 sold for €600. Central Bank Lady Lavery £100 4-4-77 01B007587. Estimate €300-€350.
    Lot 708 sold for €520. Central Bank Lady Lavery £50 4-4-77 04A063534. Estimate €250-€300.

    Thanks
