Currently have a sky satellite dish connecting to a freesat box and also have an outdoor aerial.

Can I use one satellite cable to connect to both devices, would I need a splitter at the tv wall socket and in the attic?

What type of splitter would you recommend.

Yes. You need 2 of these these. One at each of the locations you referred to. The signal is combined up at the dish / antenna end through one cable and then split at the TV end.

This wallplate can also be used at the TV end to split the signal, you should be able to purchase one locally in diy stores etc.

I'd advise using an outdoor unit if you are combining the two cables outside but if you are doing it in the attic then the units linked earlier in the thread will work fine.

    +1
I have come across a good few botched jobs where an indoor combiner was used outdoors wrapped up in insulating tape near the dish .
