Hi, My mum has given me a cheque that was sent to her as she owed me money.  The chequeis obviously made out to her and is crossed with AC PAYEE ONLY.

Will  be allowed to lodge that into my own BOI account if she signs the back of it?
    Thanks

    Hi sitstill,

As the cheque is crossed with AC PAYEE ONLY there is no way this can be lodged into another persons account. Your mam will need to lodge this into her account and then give the money to you after. Alternatively, she could ask the person who wrote the cheque to write another without AC PAYEE ONLY on it.

I hope this answers your question.
    Thanks
    Linda
