    Hi folks,

    first time poster,

    In a tricky situation,

A girl I used to work with has invited me up to her new neck of the woods for a night out etc

Do I ask to camp out on her couch or book into a hotel?

    dilemma,

PS: I can afford to book into the hotel no prob,

    Opinons welcome:)

Ask her to recommend a hotel nearby, see what she says.

Book into a hotel. It'll save any embarrassment.

TBH I'd be surprised if she didn't offer you a couch. I wouldn't dream of inviting someone to visit me and then expect them to book into a hotel, in fact I wouldn't even give them the couch, I'd give them my bed and sleep on the couch myself.

I would do the same as a host. But - OTOH. As the host is a work friend not a personal one, I would just book into a hotel and have done with it.

Ya i suppose it could work both ways,

I ll just test the waters by asking her,

I often hosted her over the years so surely,

either way I m looking forward,

    cheers for the advice lads:)

In that case would be very odd if she is not expecting you to stay at hers.

In any case, I would certainly agree with the 'ask her to recommend a hotel' suggestion, seems like the easiest way to play it.

    Ya cool mate

the reason I am a bit wary is due to the fact that I dont know her new housemates at all,

    cheers
