Hi we used to get this payment but our circumstances changed and now my husband is getting job seekers as a casual worker and drops his dockets in each week. I applied for back to school clothing and footwear allowance as our income is well below the guidelines. This was almost 3 weeks ago I applied and sent in pay slip and social welfare up to date docket. Have heard nothing back since, no text or letter. Should I call them or wait a while longer?

Hi Lukesmom, I don't see the harm in giving them a ring to put your mind at rest. I know there was a big backlog over the summer but I'd imagine this should be cleared by now. You have nothing to lose by calling them. Hope you get sorted.

Also your sw payment has to include your children in order to qualify for this allowance, despite your income being well below the threshold.
