    Removing motor from Triton T90si
    Hi all,

I need to replace the unit's brushes.

I've sourced replacement brushes for the motor and I've watched the showerdoctor vid. However, I can't find any info on removing the motor from the unit.

Does the motor come off leaving the pump part in place (ie no plumbing needed) or does the whole thing have to come off, necessitating shutting off the water and hoping I can get the joint tightened properly when I reassemble.

I am death to plumbing fittings. smile.png

    Many thanks for any advice.

I have posted this in the plumbing forum, but no response yet, so apologies to mods if a duplicate isn't allowed. :)

If you have no isolation valve then removal of the inlet filter will stop the water, the inlet filter can be located below the pump motor, you remove the pump assembly complete from the filter (2 screws on the u shaped clamp).
Be sure to bleed the pump on reconnection (small plastic knob at side of impeller housing).

Great advice. There's a third screw on the pump outlet, and then the pump just prises up off the filter section. An easy 10 minute fix that just requires a Philips screw driver and a vice grips to carefully open the filter if it's too tight to do by hand. Order the brushes with the brass housing if it's your first time changing brushes.

The symptoms of this problem is a silent shower with water trickling from the shower head, but with the light showing that the unit has power. Before ordering the parts you can test if the problem is the brushes by moving them about against the armature to get a better contact. After you reassemble the shower the pump should run if the problem is the brushes. The pump might run noisily with the worn brushes so turn it off immediately to avoid causing damage to it.

Make sure the power is off before opening the shower.
